From magical ice castles to salty flats to a scenic snow mobile ride in the mountains, this winter bachelorette in Salt Lake City was literally a dream come true.
A big shout out to my girls for planning out the most adventurous bachelorette in 2 weeks! I had originally chosen Banff, Alberta Canada as the location and plans had been in the works for months prior, but then Covid regulations became strict just a few weeks before the trip. The plans got cancelled about 2 weeks before the bachelorette dates. I still wanted a snowy adventurous bachelorette which was when Utah was brought up, one of my favorite states! The girls planned an itinerary in 2 weeks and off we went. Below is more information on the adventurous highlights from the trip.
Bonneville Salt Flats
The Bonneville Salt Flats is a perfectly flat salty crust stretching out miles surrounded by gorgeous mountains. Most of downtown is about 2 hours out from the flats but this was definitely worth the drive. Be warned there is not much on the way so pack up all the snacks and drinks and take the restroom breaks when you see one. The area is actually famous as the Bonneville Speedway. My friends tried renting out some race cars but we ended up just sticking with the 15 passenger van we had. ๐
Ice Castles
The Ice Castles are epic! It felt so magical to walk through the icicles and sculptures! We went right before sunset so we were able to see them in daylight and lit up for dark time – highly recommend! We walked on a lot of ice so wear proper shoes. I highly suggest buying tickets in advance because it is very popular.
Snow Mobiling
Snow mobiling by far is one of the most memorable experiences for all of us. IT IS SO MUCH FUN!!! Well, for most of us… Not so for my friends whom ran into trees or fell. No bones were broken, we just got a few bruises. ๐ But really, snow mobiling is so much fun!! We adventured with Woodland Snowmobile Adventures and had a great time! Snow mobiling is usually closer to Park City (ours was in Kamas, Utah), so it is a longer drive to get there but the drive through the mountains is so beautiful. It looks like a painting the whole way. We went on a three hour tour and made so many memories just from this part of the trip. And of course, the dogs and hot chocolate were a bonus win!
